The new discounts appear after obtaining an electronic payment number via the municipality’s e-services and completing payment through “Ay Fawateerkom”.
The municipality had previously announced a financial facilitation package including discounts on building and land taxes (capped taxes), knowledge tax, and sewage contribution fees within Greater Amman, valid until December 31, 2025, based on the Cabinet decision issued on Wednesday.
The municipality confirmed that the decision aims to promote sustainable development and reinforce social solidarity by reducing financial burdens on citizens and encouraging them to settle their financial obligations.
Key provisions include:
20% discount on building and land taxes, knowledge tax, and sewage contribution fees for the current and previous years if all dues are settled before December 31, 2025.
100% waiver of fines on building and land taxes (capped taxes) and knowledge tax for previous years if all dues are paid by the same date.
Option to installment payments for these taxes and fees until the end of the year.
Citizens who paid taxes and fees from January 1, 2025, until the date of the decision will have the applicable discount credited for the following year, along with an additional incentive discount.
Increase of the incentive discount from 8% to 10% for taxpayers who pay 2026 building and land taxes (capped taxes) within the first two months of 2026.
25% discount on verification fees, returns, and compensations if paid by December 31, along with the same discount for buyers of street waste if payment is completed by the same date.
Installment options for verification fees, returns, compensations, and street waste fees until December 31, 2025.
25% exemption on rents for tenants of municipal-owned buildings and properties if paid by December 31, 2025, with installment options available until the end of the year.
These measures aim to encourage citizens to settle their financial obligations while enhancing public revenue in a fair manner that considers taxpayers’ economic circumstances.
