The Director of the Electronic Systems and Digital Transformation Department, Mohammad Al-Hwayyan, confirmed that lease contracts are now issued within the professional licensing process, with the aim of reducing time and effort for citizens and ensuring the accuracy and credibility of submitted information.
Through this new procedure, the Municipality sends the professional license application to the property owner via their registered user account on the Municipality’s digital licensing platform for verification and approval of the submitted details and for adding any additional conditions. The application is then sent electronically to the tenant, who also reviews and confirms the information.
Al-Hwayyan explained that the Municipality subsequently issues a digital payment number covering both the lease contract fees and professional license fees. Once payment is made, the Municipality verifies the ownership of at least 51% of the property by the owner, ensures compliance with all requirements through its internal systems, and confirms that the owner has an active user account in the professional licensing system on GAM’s official website.
He added that upon completion of all verifications and fulfillment of conditions, both the lease contract and professional license are electronically sent to the owner and the tenant.
This initiative reflects GAM’s ongoing efforts to digitally enhance and modernize municipal services, simplify procedures, and increase efficiency and effectiveness in serving citizens.
