Armed Forces Foil Two Drug Smuggling Attempts

The Southern Military Region thwarted a drug smuggling attempt on Tuesday evening involving a drone carrying narcotics over its western front, within its area of responsibility. The operation was conducted in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.اضافة اعلان




Engagement protocols were applied after the drone was detected by border guard forces and shot down within Jordanian territory. The seized drugs were handed over to the competent authorities.

Separately, the Eastern Military Region prevented another drug smuggling attempt early Wednesday morning on its front, where narcotics were being transported using balloons equipped with improvised devices. The authorities intercepted and neutralized the balloons and their cargo within Jordanian territory after detection by border guards, in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. The seized drugs were transferred to the relevant authorities for necessary legal action.
