Speaking during Jordan’s address at the 164th ordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives, Adaileh said that the continuation of injustice, land confiscation, and denial of rights will remain a driving force for further conflicts, wars, hatred, and the rise of violence.

He pointed out that the Council is confronted with an unprecedented reality of humanitarian tragedies caused by Israel’s war on Gaza, marked by starvation policies, targeting of Palestinian civilians, persecution of journalists, and attempts to silence voices and obscure the truth.

Adaileh stressed that all measures and schemes announced by the Israeli occupation government and endorsed by the Knesset without decisive rejection from the international community require urgent Arab political, legal, and diplomatic action to stop this aggression and to mobilize an effective international stance to confront it.

He emphasized that Jordan, through the positions of its leadership and its Arab diplomatic approach, continues to work with its Arab brothers to strengthen Arab consensus, achieve unity, and find peaceful solutions to crises affecting the stability and national cohesion of states.

Full Text of Jordan’s Statement

“It is my pleasure, as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan prepares to hand over the chairmanship of the 163rd ordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives to our brothers in the United Arab Emirates, to extend to this esteemed Council—member states and the active General Secretariat—sincere appreciation for the spirit of cooperation, productive engagement, constructive interaction, and shared coordination that characterized the 163rd session. These efforts fostered mutual understanding, convergence of views, closer positions, and commitment to the Council’s outcomes and the work of its committees, serving the unified Arab stance and providing responsive engagement to developments throughout the session and its extraordinary meetings.

As I wish the United Arab Emirates every success in presiding over the 164th session, I welcome H.E. Ambassador Abdullah Hamdan Alnaqbi, head of the UAE delegation, and express hopes that this session will maintain the same spirit of cooperation and coordination, reinforcing and strengthening the Arab position—particularly amid the grave challenges our region faces, foremost among them the ongoing Israeli aggression and unprecedented violations against our Palestinian brothers in Gaza and the West Bank.

Distinguished colleagues,

Palestine will remain a just cause, an Arab land, and a struggling people—the spirit of Arab identity, the essence of joint Arab action, the focus of diplomatic efforts, and the heart of the Arab-Israeli conflict. Its comprehensive and just solution is the foundation of regional and international peace and security, for the rolling cycle of injustice, land confiscation, and denial of rights continues to fuel conflicts, wars, hatred, and the rise of violence in all its forms.

This Council, which has dedicated its ordinary and extraordinary sessions to addressing unprecedented challenges facing our central cause, the Palestinian issue, and in particular the condemned and rejected acceleration of violence, injustice, targeting, and starvation inflicted upon the Palestinian people over the past two years by Israel, the occupying power, now finds itself facing an unparalleled reality of humanitarian catastrophes caused by the Israeli war on Gaza. These include deliberate starvation policies, the targeting of Palestinians, and the persecution and killing of journalists in attempts to silence voices and conceal the truth.

All the measures and schemes announced by the Israeli occupation government and endorsed by the Knesset without firm international rejection require us to intensify our political, legal, and diplomatic efforts at the Arab level to stop this brutal aggression and nullify its illegitimate decisions, while rallying effective international support to confront it.

At the same time, we must continue to raise our voices in the international community and coordinate with its key powers to ensure that they shoulder their legal and moral responsibilities—compelling Israel and its government to rescind these schemes, to cease any behavior that violates the historical rights and constants of Palestine, its land, and its people, to end all illegal expansionist measures in the occupied West Bank, to provide protection for the Palestinian people, and to guarantee their legitimate rights to establish their independent state on their national soil, in accordance with international legitimacy and the two-state solution—leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, within the June 4, 1967 borders.

Esteemed Council,

In conclusion, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, through its wise leadership, principled approach, and steadfast Arab diplomatic compass, continues to exert all efforts, alongside its Arab brothers—whether through the Arab League or through bilateral and multilateral frameworks of cooperation—with the aim of strengthening Arab consensus, building unity, and finding peaceful solutions to the crises affecting sister Arab states, which in turn impact their security, stability, and national unity.

Jordan will continue, with its Arab brothers, to consolidate unity, deepen joint efforts for the good of this nation, defend its just causes, and support the aspirations of its peoples for security, peace, and the desired prosperity.”
