His Majesty King Abdullah II, in a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, discussed key regional developments, particularly in Gaza and the West Bank.
His Majesty underscored the need to intensify international efforts to push for an end to the war on Gaza and to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to alleviate the unfolding catastrophe.
The King reaffirmed Jordan’s rejection of Israeli plans to entrench the occupation of Gaza, expand its military control there, and accelerate settlement expansion in the West Bank.
He stressed the importance of supporting the Palestinian people in attaining their just and legitimate rights and establishing their independent state on the basis of the two-state solution, commending France’s intention to recognize the State of Palestine.
His Majesty also expressed his appreciation for France’s efforts to achieve peace in the region, particularly on the diplomatic and humanitarian fronts.
The call also covered the importance of supporting Syria and Lebanon in maintaining their security, stability, and territorial integrity.
