The Land Transport Regulatory Commission held an expanded meeting on Thursday with the Taxi Owners Association and representatives of the sector in Amman and other governorates to discuss issues related to passenger transport services provided by yellow taxis and smart applications.

The meeting addressed the need to ensure fairness among different service models and strengthen operational and regulatory compliance, particularly adherence to approved fares and the regulations and instructions governing the sector. The measures are intended to protect the rights of citizens and service providers while promoting fair competition.
The commission stressed its commitment to continuing dialogue with sector representatives and addressing challenges and concerns through clear, practical measures that can be implemented and monitored, contributing to improved service quality and better market regulation.
The participants agreed to hold a monthly meeting at the same time to follow up on progress, review measures taken, and address obstacles, ensuring that the outcomes of the meetings are translated into tangible results.
