The Associated Press, citing unnamed diplomats, reported that a new round of potential U.S. strikes on Iran could last several days.
The agency said the United States had informed its regional allies that a new round of military operations could continue for several days. At the same time, regional officials are preparing for possible Iranian retaliation, which could lead to a longer-term conflict.

U.S. President Donald Trump also said during a rally in Ohio on Wednesday that the situation involving Iran would be resolved soon.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that U.S. Vice President JD Vance had sent a message to Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei in an effort to revive peace talks. Trump, however, denied that he had tasked Vance with doing so, saying the communication concerned medical supplies.
Axios reported on Wednesday that Washington and Tel Aviv were preparing for the possibility of carrying out a week of major strikes against Iran after the elections if diplomacy fails.
The report added that mediators led by Qatar are pressing Tehran to make nuclear concessions in exchange for some easing of U.S. sanctions.
