A Qatari mediation team presented Iran with a new draft agreement on Sunday aimed at ending the war with the United States and Israel, a source familiar with the negotiations said Wednesday. Tehran is expected to respond to the proposal by the end of the week.اضافة اعلان

The source said the new draft under consideration by Iran sets a seven-day timetable to address concerns raised by both Tehran and Washington and outlines daily confidence-building measures to be taken by each side, according to Reuters.

The timetable could begin early next week, the source said, adding that several countries would serve as guarantors of the agreement.

Qatar, alongside Pakistan, has led mediation efforts to end the war launched by the United States and Israel in February.

The conflict has disrupted global shipping and oil supplies, with its effects spreading to other parts of the Middle East.

The source familiar with the negotiations said there were concerns ahead of Sunday's meeting in Tehran that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is campaigning in a general election for another term, could resume attacks on the Islamic Republic this week.

On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump repeated his threats to strike Iran again, while Iranian security officials told Reuters that Tehran had drawn up detailed plans to attack undersea cables in the Gulf if the United States and Israel resumed their attacks.

Previous mediation efforts helped produce a temporary peace agreement in June, but the deal quickly collapsed.

In recent weeks, Yemen's Houthis have carried out repeated attacks against Saudi Arabia, the world's largest exporter of crude oil.
