Jordan’s Public Security Directorate announced the arrest of the three terrorists who carried out the cowardly attack at Hamoud Church in Karak, saying all three were wounded during an armed clash with security forces. No members of the security force were injured.
Search and combing operations continued from the moment the terrorist attack took place until the three suspects were located early Monday morning inside an abandoned house in Karak Governorate.
“Terrorism has no place among us. This group, which has strayed from religion, customs and moral values, has met its just fate at the hands of the security forces.”
“We remain vigilant and will strike with an iron fist, without mercy or leniency, against anyone who attempts to undermine Jordan’s security or the safety of its citizens.”
The Public Security Directorate renewed its prayers for mercy for the martyrs and wished those injured in the terrorist attack a speedy recovery.
The Directorate said that joint investigation and specialized raid teams, along with security agencies, managed early Monday to locate the three terrorists responsible for the cowardly attack against Jordanian citizens at a church in the village of Hamoud in Karak Governorate, following continuous search and combing operations.
According to a statement, the three terrorists had barricaded themselves inside an abandoned house and refused to surrender. They opened fire at the security force, prompting officers to apply the rules of engagement until they were brought under control and arrested after all three were wounded.
No members of the security force were injured during the operation.
The Directorate added that, following their arrest and a search of the location, security personnel found a number of firearms and ammunition in their possession.
The Public Security Directorate renewed its prayers for mercy for the martyrs and wished a speedy recovery to those injured by the “cowardly hands of terrorism.”
It stressed that Jordan will remain resilient against anyone seeking to undermine its security, stability and the safety of its citizens.
“May God protect Jordan, its leadership and its people.”
