King Abdullah II received a phone call on Monday from Iraqi President Nizar Amedi, during which they discussed the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and ways to build on them to strengthen cooperation across various fields.

During the call, the two sides stressed the need to move forward with the implementation of the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline project and highlighted its importance in serving the interests of both countries and their brotherly peoples.
Discussing regional developments, King Abdullah stressed the need for de-escalation and for safeguarding the security of Arab countries and the stability of their peoples.
The King also stressed the need to halt dangerous Israeli actions in the West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza, and underscored the importance of supporting Syria and Lebanon in preserving their security, stability and sovereignty.
