The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has begun constructing a temporary side road alongside Al-Rama Bridge on the Al-Rama–Al-Joufa road to facilitate local movement for residents and pedestrians and reduce the impact of the road closure after cracks appeared in the bridge due to floods and heavy rainfall in the area.

The project includes a temporary road equipped with culverts to drain rainwater and flood runoff, as well as concrete barriers to ensure the safety of road users. The road will serve local traffic until the damaged bridge is removed, reconstructed and the road is permanently reopened.
The ministry stressed its commitment to accelerating the completion of the works and opening the road to local traffic as soon as possible, while trucks and through traffic continue to be diverted to alternative routes to protect public safety and ensure smooth traffic flow.
