Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites Mohammad Al-Khalayleh said recent events underscore the importance of rallying around state institutions, strengthening national unity and preventing extremist ideas from undermining Jordan’s social fabric.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Al-Khalayleh said Jordan will remain a model of fraternity and coexistence between Muslims and Christians, whose communities are united by mutual respect and a shared commitment to protecting the country.
He stressed that all Jordanians are partners in safeguarding the country’s security and stability, and that preserving national unity is a shared responsibility.
Al-Khalayleh emphasized that extremist groups do not represent the true teachings of Islam, which are based on protecting human life, safeguarding human dignity and promoting the values of mercy and tolerance.
He said security and stability are blessings that must be preserved, noting that they are the result of the sacrifices of the Jordan Armed Forces and security agencies, as well as the wisdom of the Hashemite leadership.
He also highlighted the essential role of mosques in raising a conscious generation that remains committed to its faith and values and translates Islamic principles into everyday conduct that promotes compassion and solidarity.
