Israel Begins Counting Double Envelopes in Election

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation announced that the counting of double envelopes in the Knesset election has begun, with the process expected to be completed Thursday evening.

According to vote-counting results excluding ballots contained in double envelopes, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s alliance has secured 53 seats, compared with 48 seats for the alliance led by Gadi Eisenkot. Arab parties have won 19 seats.
