The Iranian Embassy in Kuwait has categorically denied Kuwaiti allegations that an Iranian citizen was involved in a plot to assassinate Kuwaiti figures or in any activity that could threaten Kuwait’s national security.اضافة اعلان

In a statement issued Wednesday on the social media platform X, the embassy said the allegations made by the Kuwaiti government concerning the alleged involvement of an Iranian national in an assassination plot or other activities targeting Kuwait’s national security were entirely unfounded.

The embassy stressed that the individual in question had not been in Kuwait at any time during the past 10 years.

It also expressed its “deep regret” over what it described as the continued negative approach toward Iran, reflected in the repetition of what it called “weak and outdated scenarios” concerning Iranian interference in Kuwaiti affairs. The embassy said such accusations against Iranian citizens were inconsistent with the principle of good neighborly relations and violated international law.

According to Russia Today, the statement stressed that the region is facing serious repercussions from the U.S.-Israeli military aggression against Iran. It said regional countries should, under the current circumstances, pursue responsible and prudent policies to prevent further escalation of tensions affecting the region as a whole.

The Iranian statement came after Kuwait’s Criminal Court on Monday sentenced three individuals to death, including one Iranian national, and sentenced eight others to five years in prison on charges of spying for Iran and Lebanon’s Hezbollah and planning to assassinate Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf, as well as other state figures and leaders.

The Public Prosecution charged the defendants with acts deemed harmful to Kuwait’s independence, unity and territorial integrity, as well as seeking to cooperate and communicate with Iran and Hezbollah to carry out hostile acts against Kuwait. The alleged activities included plans to assassinate the interior minister and other senior officials.
