The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said Tuesday that the Syrian Arab Republic is fully convinced that suspicious parties are working to undermine the strong fraternal relations between Syria and Jordan, sow discord, heighten tensions and fuel crises between the two neighboring countries.اضافة اعلان

In a statement issued Tuesday, the ministry said that, in reaffirmation of the wisdom of both leaderships and their firm commitment to preserving the fraternal relationship, direct coordination is currently underway to urgently establish a joint field and security committee.

The committee will seek to put an end to field violations and abuses, prevent their recurrence, secure and protect the shared border between the two countries, and ensure full security and field coordination to prevent anyone from tampering with the security of both countries or causing the loss of lives among their peoples.

The Jordanian government had previously announced that it would work with its Syrian counterparts to establish a joint committee to follow up on the repercussions of the operation carried out by the Jordanian Air Force against ISIS and to enhance coordination in combating the terrorist organization, in a manner that safeguards the security of both countries and their peoples and protects civilians.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry reaffirmed the deep, historic and firmly established fraternal ties between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, saying relations between the two countries have reached their strongest level in terms of mutual understanding and a shared commitment to the interests of their two peoples.

The ministry said Syria is following with great concern and attention the latest security and field developments along the shared border.

At the same time, the Syrian Arab Republic expressed its condemnation and rejection of the Jordanian operations carried out in the area on Monday, which targeted several sites in Daraa Governorate.

Syria also strongly renewed its condemnation of what it described as the treacherous and criminal attack on St. George’s Church in Karak several days ago, calling it a blatant assault on religious and humanitarian values and a despicable attempt to undermine Jordan’s cohesive social fabric.
