Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the senators said the professionalism demonstrated by the security agencies in dealing with the terrorist attack in Karak has strengthened Jordanians’ confidence in state institutions. They emphasized that Jordan’s security and stability are in safe hands and that there is no haven for anyone seeking to undermine the country’s security.

They noted that the speed and precision with which the perpetrators were arrested clearly demonstrate the firm royal resolve and represent a direct, practical implementation of King Abdullah II’s assurances during his visit to Karak that cowards and terrorists would be pursued and subjected to the harshest deterrent penalties.

Senator Jamal Al-Sarayrah said the brutal and cowardly attack targeting the Greek Orthodox Church in the village of Hamoud, Karak Governorate, constitutes a blatant violation of the sanctity of places of worship and a flagrant assault on the most sacred religious and human values and the right to practice religious rites safely.

He said Jordan, under its historic Hashemite leadership, which has consistently established the foundations of tolerance, protected human dignity and safeguarded holy sites, remains resilient in the face of such heinous acts. These desperate attempts, he added, will only strengthen the bonds between Jordanians, Muslims and Christians alike, and reinforce their unity as one body in confronting extremist and dark ideologies.

Al-Sarayrah stressed that security agencies and state institutions have demonstrated responsibility and professionalism from the first moment of the crime. They worked around the clock with close coordination and high efficiency until the perpetrators were brought to justice. He said the speed and precision of the arrests clearly reflect the firm royal resolve and the practical implementation of King Abdullah II’s directives during his visit to Karak.

He stressed that Jordan will remain, through the wisdom of its leadership and the awareness of its people, an oasis of security and a unique model of national cohesion, while all attempts to spread division and hatred will be shattered by Jordanian awareness and solidarity.

Senator Mahmoud Freihat said the intensive efforts undertaken by the security agencies from the first moment of the terrorist crime in Karak demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism, efficiency and coordination, strengthening Jordanians’ confidence in their security institutions, which continue to perform their national duties with competence and responsibility.

He said the arrest of members of the terrorist cell reflects the firm royal determination to pursue those who target the country’s security and stability. Jordan, he added, will remain resilient in the face of terrorism and strife, while national unity and the cohesion of Jordanians will remain stronger than all attempts to spread division, hatred and distrust in state institutions.

Freihat noted that standing behind the Hashemite leadership and security agencies represents a safeguard for the country, stressing that the blood, dignity and security of Jordanians will remain above all else and that no attempt will succeed in undermining their unity or national constants.

Senator Fadel Al-Hamoud referred to King Abdullah II’s directives during his visit to Karak to arrest the terrorists and confront them with the harshest penalties. He stressed that the perpetrators of the heinous terrorist crime had been brought within the reach of justice and that there would be no leniency toward anyone who attempts to threaten Jordan’s security or the safety of its citizens.

Al-Hamoud praised the security agencies for successfully carrying out their duties and pursuing those involved, saying this demonstrates their vigilance and ability to deal firmly with terrorist threats. He also commended the sacrifices made by their personnel to protect citizens and safeguard the Kingdom’s security.

He stressed that Jordanians’ awareness and their support for their Hashemite leadership and security institutions are fundamental pillars in confronting terrorism and extremism and preserving the country’s security and stability.

Senator Muwaffaq Al-Dhmour said, “His Majesty the King convened his security council, and with the determination of men and the resolve of heroes, work was undertaken to put an end to this hateful group.” He added that the pain of the incident was eased by the King’s repeated visits to the injured and his visits to condolence gatherings, while the visits by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Queen Rania Al Abdullah and the princesses also had a significant impact in offering comfort and strengthening the national response.

Al-Dhmour expressed his gratitude to the armed forces and security agencies for their high professionalism, exceptional efficiency and advanced field coordination, saying these efforts reinforce Jordanians’ confidence in their state and institutions and their belief that Jordan is strong and protected by vigilant eyes.

Senator Dr. Salah Adeeb Halsa said Jordan’s security agencies had once again proven that they are the nation’s shield and strong defense. From the first moment of the terrorist crime targeting the Hamoud Church in Karak, he said, they pursued the perpetrators relentlessly until they arrested the terrorist cell in a carefully executed operation characterized by professionalism, efficiency and a high level of coordination, without any security personnel being injured.

He said the perpetrators were now within the reach of justice and expressed confidence that justice would take its course and that anyone proven responsible would receive the punishment prescribed by law.

“Our loss was great, and we lost loved ones who were dear to our hearts, leaving behind an enduring grief,” Halsa said. “But they are not martyrs of one family or one community; they are martyrs of all Jordan, and their pure blood is a trust entrusted to us all.”

He added that, as a son of Karak who knows its land, people and history, he knows that Muslims and Christians have always lived there as one family, bound by love and shared values before geography united them.

“Those who thought this crime would sow division among Jordanians do not know Jordan or its people,” he said, stressing that the attack had only strengthened national cohesion and determination to protect the country.

Halsa said Jordan would remain a model of national solidarity, standing united behind its Hashemite leadership, Arab Army and security agencies. He prayed for mercy for Jordan’s martyrs, a speedy recovery for the wounded, patience for their families, and continued security and safety for Jordan.

Senator Dr. Ghazi Al-Dhanibat said the operation reflected a high level of professionalism, efficiency and coordination among the various security agencies. It reaffirmed that Jordan’s security and stability are in safe hands and that Jordanians’ confidence in their state institutions and security agencies is firmly rooted in their positions, achievements and sacrifices.

He said the Jordanian state had once again demonstrated that its promises are translated into action and that the hand of justice can reach anyone who attempts to undermine the country’s security and stability. There is no place for terrorism on Jordanian soil, he stressed, and no one will escape accountability and punishment under the law.

Al-Dhanibat emphasized that Jordanians have proven that what unites them is greater than all attempts to divide them. National solidarity, he said, will remain an impenetrable barrier against extremism and terrorism, while Jordan will remain, under its Hashemite leadership, security agencies and the awareness of its people, resilient in the face of anyone seeking to threaten its security and unity.

Senator Naseema Al-Fakhri said the arrest of members of the terrorist cell linked to the crime in Karak demonstrates the high level of vigilance and professionalism of Jordan’s security agencies. It also reflects their continuous efforts from the first moment of the crime and the efficiency, coordination and integration they demonstrated in carrying out their national duties.

She said the achievement strengthens Jordanians’ confidence in their state institutions and their ability to confront anything that threatens the country’s security and stability and to pursue anyone who attempts to undermine the safety of society.

Al-Fakhri stressed that bringing those involved in the heinous crime to justice sends a clear message that Jordan is a state governed by law and institutions, and that the security, dignity and safety of citizens are national priorities that cannot be compromised. Anyone who commits a crime, she said, will face the full force of the law.

She emphasized that Jordanian unity and cohesion constitute the first line of defense against terrorism and extremist ideology, stressing that Jordan will remain a model of national solidarity and that attempts to spread division and hatred or target the social fabric will fail to undermine the strength of the domestic front.

She added that targeting any component of Jordanian society is an attack on Jordan as a whole, and that the awareness of Jordanians and their support for their leadership and state institutions will remain the fundamental guarantee for protecting the country and safeguarding its security and stability.
