Transport and Labor Minister Dr. Nidal Al-Qatamin has directed the ministries’ Employment and Inspection Directorates and the National Employment Program team to require private-sector establishments to comply with Labor Law provisions concerning the employment of persons with disabilities, the provision of occupational safety and health personnel, and the establishment of nurseries for employees’ children and staffing them with qualified personnel.اضافة اعلان

The directives are part of the ministry’s efforts to increase the employment of Jordanians in the private sector, promote the employment of persons with disabilities, and ensure the availability of specialized occupational safety and health and nursery staff, in compliance with the Labor Law, the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and legislation governing occupational safety and health.

In this context, the ministry circulated the decision to the Employment and Inspection Directorates, their field departments and the National Employment Program to ensure that private-sector establishments comply with legally mandated employment quotas for persons with disabilities, adhere to occupational safety and health standards and provide the required personnel, in addition to monitoring establishments’ compliance with requirements to provide nurseries for employees’ children.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Mohammad Al-Zyoud, said employment teams had begun field visits to establishments covered by the requirements to raise employers’ awareness of their legal obligations and identify available job opportunities.

Al-Zyoud said the awareness campaign would continue for 30 days, during which employers would be encouraged to make use of the database available through the national employment platform, “Sajjil,” and recruit qualified graduates in fields with limited job opportunities to work as nursery staff or in occupational safety and health positions.

The ministry called on persons with disabilities, occupational safety and health specialists and individuals with qualifications relevant to nursery requirements to update their information or register on the “Sajjil” platform. This would enable the ministry to assess their qualifications and provide suitable employment opportunities, or enroll those who need additional preparation in training and qualification programs in coordination with the Vocational Training Corporation.

Al-Zyoud noted that the ministry would provide support to establishments that comply with the Labor Law and meet the eligibility requirements for assistance through the National Employment Program.

Al-Zyoud concluded by confirming that, immediately after the 30-day awareness period ends, the ministry will launch expanded inspection campaigns. Legal action will be taken against establishments that fail to comply with Labor Law requirements.
