In remarks to Jordan University Radio, the minister explained that the fine amount depends on the location and type of waste, noting that both the volume of waste and the disposal site are considered in enforcement standards to ensure fairness and equal application of the law.
Suleiman added that violations are not limited to the capital, Amman, but are recorded across all governorates as part of a national plan for environmental monitoring. A total of 300 mobile cameras have been installed—50 in Amman and 250 across other governorates.
The minister stressed that the goal of these measures is not punishment alone, but to raise environmental awareness and promote a culture of public cleanliness, urging citizens to comply with regulations and contribute to a clean and safe environment.
