The Ministry of Labor announced that the target number of Jordanians to be employed through the National Employment Program 2026–2027 is 8,000, 40% of whom are women.

Ministry spokesperson Mohammad Al-Zayoud stated that since 2022, the program has supported 61,330 employment contracts, including 31,444 contracts signed with women. Around 75% of participants continue working after the wage support period ends, according to tracking through the Social Security Corporation’s data.
Al-Zayoud noted that private sector companies benefiting from the program focus on the 18–29 age group, with 43,045 contracts signed for this group since the program’s launch in 2022. The program targets individuals aged 18–45.
In 2025 alone, 16,139 supported contracts were signed, including 7,404 with women. Of these, 12,109 contracts were for the 18–29 age group.
Regarding beneficiaries from the National Aid Fund, 7,043 individuals participated in the program from 2022–2025, helping 1,194 families exit the aid program. In 2025, 1,976 aid beneficiaries joined the employment program, including 704 women.
On the private sector participation, 3,530 companies registered for wage support since 2022, with 2,089 receiving direct support. The satisfaction rate among participating companies reached 96.7%.
The sectors employing the highest number of program participants are, in order: private education, accommodation and food services, manufacturing, administrative and logistics support services, wholesale and retail trade, and human health and social services.
Geographically, the highest concentration of participating companies is in Amman, followed by Irbid, Zarqa, Balqa, and Karak. The number of establishments and economic activity significantly influence this distribution.
For training and capacity building, around 22,000 young men and women have received on-the-job training or instruction in employability skills, occupational health, and safety.
