The Department of Statistics issued its semi-annual report on net newly created jobs in Jordan for the first half of 2025, with the following key findings:

The net number of jobs created in the Jordanian labor market reached 48,403 during the first half of 2025. Net newly created jobs are defined as the total number of new jobs reported as filled during the reference period minus the total number of jobs vacated during the same period (6 months).
By gender, net job creation for males reached 41,233 jobs, representing 85.2% of total net job creation, while females accounted for 7,170 jobs, or 14.8%.
Among those holding a bachelor’s degree or higher, females accounted for 33.5% of net job creation, compared to 66.5% for males.
By age group, net job creation was:
15–19 years: 5,476 jobs (11.3%)
20–29 years: 41,752 jobs (86.2%) – the largest share
30–39 years: 5,291 jobs (10.9%)
40 years and above: 4,116 jobs (8.6%)
Net jobs created for non-Jordanians reached 3,085, distributed as follows:
Syrians: 41.9%
Egyptians: 17.5%
Iraqis: 1.8%
Other Arab nationalities: 5.7%
Non-Arab nationalities: 33.1%
By sector, the majority of net jobs were concentrated in wholesale and retail trade, and vehicle repair, with 12,723 jobs in the first half of 2025, followed by public administration, defense, and social security with 7,000 jobs.
By occupation, 21,134 of the total net newly created jobs were in sales and service workers, followed by specialists (including teachers, doctors, engineers, lawyers, and others) with 8,240 jobs.
These figures indicate steady growth in Jordan’s labor market, with expectations that total net job creation could reach 100,000 jobs by the end of the year.
