AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmad Al-Hunaiti met with Thomas DiNanno, the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, on the sidelines of his official visit to Washington, D.C.
The two officials discussed ways to strengthen Jordanian-U.S. cooperation and coordination in the fields of security and defense, in addition to reviewing regional and international developments and joint efforts aimed at promoting security and stability across the region.
Al-Hunaiti reaffirmed the depth of the strategic partnership between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the United States, stressing the importance of continued coordination and consultation to address shared security challenges in a manner that enhances regional and international peace and stability.
For his part, DiNanno praised the strength of Jordanian-American relations and highlighted Jordan’s pivotal role in supporting regional security and stability. He also reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Jordan across areas of mutual interest.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries and broaden cooperation and coordination in support of shared interests and regional and international security objectives.
