The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, affirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and strong denunciation of these statements. He reaffirmed Jordan's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures it takes to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
Al-Majali called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to ensure the implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions—particularly Resolution 2216 concerning Yemen and Resolution 2722 regarding the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. He emphasized that freedom of navigation in international waterways is a right guaranteed by international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
