Despite a 4 percent drop in the rate of felonies and misdemeanors committed in 2025, 2.6 crimes are still committed every hour, averaging 63.1 crimes per day.

The total number of these crimes reached 23,021 last year, compared to 23,982 in 2024, and 22,784 in 2023, according to Al-Ghad.
Through an infographic, Al-Ghad highlights the number of crimes committed during 2023, 2024, and 2025, the average frequency of offenses, and regional breakdowns across the Kingdom’s three main regions (North, Center, South).
According to the figures, the rate of felonies and misdemeanors per 10,000 residents stood at 19 last year, compared to 20 in both 2024 and 2023.
By region, the crime rate per 10,000 residents in 2025 was as follows: Capital Governorate: 21, Central Region: 18, Northern Region: 17, Southern Region: 20, and the Royal Badia Police Directorate: 18.
The number of offenses committed by juveniles last year reached 2,451. Property crimes ranked first with 1,770 offenses, followed by crimes against persons (182), and offenses against public administration (178).
Meanwhile, crimes committed by foreign nationals during the same year totaled 3,378. Property crimes led the category with 2,518 offenses, followed by offenses against public administration (278), and crimes against public morals and decency (250).
Regarding drug-related offenses, 22,031 cases involving use, possession, and trafficking were recorded last year, marking a 12.78 percent decrease compared to the previous year's 25,260 cases.
Drug trafficking offenses totaled 6,311, while possession and use accounted for 15,720 cases. Among juveniles, 169 drug offenses were recorded (56 trafficking, 113 use), whereas foreign nationals accounted for 2,004 drug crimes (580 trafficking, 1,424 use). The average time interval between drug offenses was recorded at 23 minutes and 19 seconds.
