Among the most significant operations was the interception of an attempt to smuggle approximately six million Captagon pills and the seizure of 2 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
Authorities also confiscated 19,000 cartons of smuggled cigarettes and 11,000 electronic vape products and e-liquid cartridges. Legal action has been taken against those involved, and the seized items have been referred to the relevant authorities.
The enforcement operations coincided with a significant increase in cross-border traffic through the Jaber Border Crossing. During the past month, customs officers processed more than 60,000 vehicles and buses of various nationalities while maintaining smooth traffic flow and expediting customs procedures without compromising inspection and security requirements.
The Customs Department said the results reflect the high level of readiness and professionalism of its personnel, as well as the strong coordination with security and oversight agencies operating at the border crossing.
It added that these joint efforts continue to strengthen the fight against smuggling in all its forms while ensuring efficient services for travelers and maintaining a balance between facilitating trade and passenger movement and protecting national security.
