In response to inquiries from Al-Mamlaka, the ministry added that the "Sanad" application continues to record rapid growth in its user base.

Regarding the digital ID activation figures, the ministry views these numbers as a reflection of the app's presence in users' daily lives and their increasing reliance on it to access government digital services.

The ministry previously stated that "Sanad" has undergone a series of updates and enhancements focused on simplifying procedures and accelerating access to services, which contributed to increasing usage efficiency and improving the user experience.

It noted that among the key updates is enabling self-activation of the digital ID through the app without needing to visit "Sanad" stations, alongside online services for changing phone numbers, resetting passwords, and improving the display of digital documents with offline access using biometric/fingerprint authentication.

The improvements also included developing services for electronic passports, vehicle registration renewals, digital payments, and digital signature services, thereby reinforcing reliance on electronic government services.

The government launched the "Sanad" application in February 2020 as part of Executive Package 5 of the Government Economic Program to support "e-services and improve the business environment." Several updates were subsequently implemented to overcome initial operational issues.
