Thousands of protesters marched in Tel Aviv on Saturday against the government of Benjamin Netanyahu, three days before a pivotal election widely seen as a referendum on the prime minister himself.
The protests were organized by the “October Council,” a group founded by families of those killed and detained during the October 7, 2023 attacks, who are demanding accountability from officials over the failures that allowed Hamas to carry out the attack that triggered the war in the Gaza Strip.
Prominent figures from the four main opposition parties are expected to take part in the protest, particularly former military chief Gadi Eisenkot.
