According to a statement from the Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem, the settlers conducted provocative tours throughout the compound and performed Talmudic rituals, particularly in the eastern section of the mosque.

Meanwhile, Israeli police imposed strict restrictions on Palestinian worshippers, inspecting their IDs and detaining some at the external gates of the mosque.

This latest incursion comes a day after thousands of settlers stormed the mosque on the occasion of what they refer to as the "Destruction of the Temple." They held mass Talmudic rituals, performed public prostrations, and engaged in singing, dancing, and flag-waving within the mosque courtyards.

Jerusalem-based religious and civic institutions have urged Palestinians in Jerusalem, the occupied West Bank, and from within the Green Line to intensify their presence at Al-Aqsa in order to counteract settler and occupation authorities’ plans to impose full control over the compound.

The mosque is subject to daily incursions, except on Fridays and Saturdays, as part of a wider Israeli effort to enforce a temporal and spatial division of the sacred Islamic site.
