Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations said on Monday that its mobile application, used to alert residents about Ukrainian drone attacks, had been targeted in a large-scale cyberattack, allowing attackers to spread misleading information among users.

In a statement posted on Telegram, the ministry said its teams were working to address the security vulnerability and restore the application to normal operation.

The Russian announcement came shortly after the Ukrainian Air Force said on Sunday evening that its public air raid alert application had been hacked, resulting in false warnings about a nuclear threat that later disappeared.

"The air raid alert application appears to have been affected by the enemy," the Ukrainian Air Force said in a Telegram post. It added: "There is no radiological threat! Remain calm and follow updates through our channel!"

Power Grids Targeted

On the battlefield, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia had targeted energy infrastructure in four Ukrainian regions overnight, cutting electricity to hundreds of thousands of homes.

He added that Moscow was seeking to exploit shortages of air defence missiles designed to intercept ballistic missiles.

Zelenskyy also said Ukraine had targeted the Kamensky plant in Russia's Rostov region, stating that the facility is involved in manufacturing Russian missiles. Moscow has not commented on the reported attack.

Meanwhile, Gleb Nikitin, governor of Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region, said a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack had caused significant damage to an industrial facility, without identifying the site.

Russia's Defence Ministry said its forces had shot down 235 Ukrainian drones overnight, while the Ukrainian Air Force reported intercepting 371 of the 433 long-range drones launched by Russia since Saturday evening.

Evacuations in Southern Ukraine

In a parallel development, the Ukrainian military announced the evacuation of 167 people from threatened areas in the southern Kherson region as a temporary local ceasefire approached its expiration at midnight local time.

The six-day truce covered Oleshky and surrounding areas and followed mediation efforts by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, with the participation of Pope Leo XIV.

Russian news agencies quoted Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov as saying that Moscow viewed positively the way the operation had been carried out and the coordination between the two countries' human rights commissioners.
