The rise in gold, considered a safe-haven asset, was supported by investors seeking to buy the metal at lower prices after it fell during the previous session to $3,875 per ounce, its lowest level since October 2025.

The increase was also supported by declining oil prices, which eased concerns over inflation.

Meanwhile, spot silver prices rose by 2.4% to $50.9 per ounce.
Global markets have been experiencing volatility amid escalating military tensions and rising oil prices, alongside concerns that higher energy costs could affect inflation rates and the direction of US monetary policy.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a war against Iran, which resulted in thousands of deaths.

Tehran responded with attacks on Israel and what it described as US targets across the region.

The United States later launched strikes on sites in Iran amid stalled negotiations between the two countries, despite their signing of a memorandum of understanding in mid-June, with disagreements persisting over navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
