The King affirmed that Jordan will remain steadfast in confronting terrorism, stressing that the state will stand against anyone seeking to undermine the country's security, stability and unity.
“Days ago, the treacherous hand of terrorism reached out to test the resilience of our state and the determination of our people, but we will stand firmly against it,” the King said in his Throne Speech.
“We will not allow outcast terrorists to threaten the security and unity of this country,” he added.
Referring to those behind the terrorist attack in Karak, the King said: “These people are not one of us. They have turned their backs on our great Jordanian family and betrayed it. There is no place for them among us, neither today nor tomorrow.”
His Majesty stressed that “the blood of the martyrs of Karak is a solemn responsibility we carry,” calling on Parliament to observe a minute of silence in memory of those killed in the terrorist attack.
The King emphasized that “Jordan has been and will always remain steadfast against every aggressor and formidable in the face of anyone who disregards its history.”
