According to the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem, approximately 1,251 settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque as of the time of reporting. During the incursion, they performed Talmudic rituals, danced, and shouted, disrupting the sanctity of the mosque.

It is worth noting that Ben Gvir had also led a provocative settler march late last night through the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, marking what is referred to in Jewish tradition as the “Destruction of the Temple.”

Extremist “Temple Mount” settler organizations had called for a mass incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday, coinciding with the anniversary of the so-called “Destruction of the Temple.”

According to the Jerusalem Governorate, this year’s commemoration represents one of the most dangerous days for Al-Aqsa Mosque. These groups aim to make August 3rd the “Greatest Day of Storming,” as part of a significant attempt to break religious and legal red lines, taking advantage of the full backing of the Israeli government for their extremist agenda.

This escalation comes amid an unprecedented environment of incitement. The current events follow Ben Gvir’s recent directive to police officers to allow settlers to dance and sing inside Al-Aqsa Mosque—an act viewed as preparation for imposing new facts on the ground by force. This move follows his public declaration during a May incursion into the mosque, where he stated that “prayer and prostration are now possible on the Temple Mount,” in a blatant and dangerous violation of the established status quo.
