US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday during a media interview that he is considering launching strikes against Iran's proxies, describing pro-Iranian militias as "the cancer of the world."

When asked about Iran, Trump stated: "I will let them keep talking, and America will launch strikes against them in response to the attacks targeting US sites."
The US President added that the strikes against pro-Iranian militias "were conducted in coordination with the Iraqi government," threatening: "We will teach Iran a harsh lesson.. It will suffer a crushing defeat.. We will hit Iran hard."
In his interview with Fox News, President Trump vowed to deal a heavy blow to Iran after the US military announced it had intercepted several ballistic missiles launched by Tehran toward US forces in the Middle East.
The telephone interview was not broadcast live; however, a network correspondent summarized the US President's remarks.
