The results of Jordan’s General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) for Grade 11 students are expected to be announced in the second half of August, once all necessary technical and administrative procedures have been completed, Ministry of Education spokesperson Mahmoud Hayasat said.
The ministry concluded this year’s Grade 11 Tawjihi examinations on Thursday. The exams began on July 23.
Hayasat said the examinations proceeded smoothly and according to plan throughout all sessions, with no reports received by the operations rooms at the ministry’s headquarters or education directorates of any issues that affected the proper conduct or organization of the exams.
He attributed the smooth process to cooperation and coordination among all relevant authorities, as well as the high level of commitment demonstrated by students and ministry staff.
As part of the ministry’s efforts to safeguard the integrity and fairness of the examinations, Hayasat said only 55 violations were recorded throughout the entire examination period, reflecting a high level of discipline and compliance with examination regulations among students.
Regarding the examination papers, Hayasat said specialized committees of educational supervisors reviewed the papers after each session and confirmed that all questions were based on the prescribed curriculum, appropriately took into account differences in students’ abilities, were free of errors, and allowed sufficient time for students to complete their answers.
Hayasat said the marking process began on the first day of the examinations, with ministry staff intensifying their efforts to complete marking and verification procedures in accordance with the highest standards of accuracy and quality.
He explained that the marking process follows two tracks. The first involves optical scanner answer sheets, which undergo more than 12 stages of verification and review to ensure the highest possible accuracy in producing the results.
The second involves the marking of examination booklets at 23 marking centers across all governorates of the Kingdom, with approximately 6,000 markers, including educational supervisors and specialized teachers, participating in the process.
Hayasat said the marking of examination booklets is among the most meticulous stages of the process, with each booklet undergoing more than 27 stages of marking, verification and review, ensuring that every student receives the marks they are entitled to under precise academic and procedural standards.
He confirmed that marking has been completed for most of the subjects taken by students, while verification, cross-checking and final review processes continue for all subjects, including those for which marking has already been completed. These procedures will continue until shortly before the results are announced to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and reliability.
The examinations were held over four days and covered the common general education subjects of Arabic, English, History of Jordan and Islamic Education, with more than 133,000 students taking part.
The Ministry of Education expressed its appreciation to all national institutions and agencies that contributed to the successful conduct of the examinations, particularly the security services, Civil Defense, Ministry of Health, media organizations, and ministry personnel, including administrators, supervisors, examination hall heads, invigilators and markers.
The ministry also thanked parents for their cooperation and wished all students continued success.
