Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan reaffirmed on Friday that Jordan’s fight against terrorism and extremist groups is ongoing, stressing that the country will show no tolerance toward extremist ideology that threatens national security and social stability.
In a post on his account on the social media platform X, Hassan said: “May God have mercy on the martyr of the nation and duty, Corporal Jawad Al-Salaytah, who was martyred in a cowardly and treacherous terrorist attack in the capital, Amman. We extend our condolences to his family and relatives and wish his fellow officer, Lieutenant Firas Al-Ananzeh, a speedy recovery.”
Hassan added: “We reaffirm that Jordan’s fight against terrorism and extremist groups continues. We will never show any leniency in confronting this misguided and extremist ideology, which targets the security of our country and the stability of our society. We will strike hard against the strongholds of extremists and terrorists, as well as anyone who cooperates with them.”
He concluded by praying for Jordan, its Hashemite leadership, its people, and the members of the armed forces and security agencies who work tirelessly to safeguard the country’s security and stability.
