The Qatari Ministry of Transport announced on Sunday the full resumption of maritime navigation activities for all types of marine vessels and ships with immediate effect.

This comes after Qatar advised on June 29 to suspend sailing and fishing activities until further notice, with the exception of commercial shipping.
The ministry urged all vessel operators and users to "adhere to the regulations and instructions in force, and to ensure the availability of security and safety equipment to achieve the highest levels of security and safety for all trips."
Qatar did not state the reason behind the guidelines issued on June 29, but they came a day after it announced the death of one of its citizens after being struck by shrapnel resulting from "military operations witnessed in the region," following the disappearance of his boat.
