In a post published Monday morning on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said that continued political criticism of his handling of the negotiations makes his task more difficult. He criticized what he described as Democrats and some Republicans whom he characterized as unpatriotic.

Trump argued that his critics alternately demand that he move faster, slow down, go to war, or avoid conflict, saying that such contradictory positions undermine his efforts.

He added: “Sit back and relax. Everything will work out well in the end, as it always does.”

Meanwhile, the United States Central Command announced Monday that it had carried out what it described as “defensive” strikes against radar sites and drone command-and-control facilities in the Gorouk area and on Qeshm Island over the weekend.

In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said the “measured and deliberate” strikes were conducted on Saturday and Sunday in response to what it called hostile Iranian actions, including the downing of a U.S. MQ-1 drone that was flying over international waters.

The command stated that U.S. fighter aircraft responded swiftly by destroying Iranian air defense systems, a ground control station, and two one-way attack drones that it said posed a clear threat to vessels transiting regional waters.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said Monday that its air force had targeted an air base allegedly used in what it described as a U.S. attack on a communications tower on Sirik Island, although it did not specify the location of the base.
