At a ceremony held to mark this event, Minister of Transport Wajih Azaizeh said QAIA is one of the most prominent public-private partnership projects, describing it as a “vital asset”, and reiterated Jordan’s commitment to ensuring the continued success of the airport.

At the ceremony, held by the Airport International Group (AIG), the minister highlighted the importance of sustaining the high standards QAIA has achieved placing emphasis on passenger services, commending the high level collaboration among all airport authorities.

The close cooperation between the ministry and AIG, paired with the diligent follow-up by both parties, have been key to overcoming difficulties and improving passenger services, Azaizeh said.

“In any given year, receiving the ‘Best Airport by Size and Region: Middle East’ title would have been an incredible feat to achieve,” said AIG CEO Nicolas Claude. “But to receive this award for the third consecutive year, the fourth time in the airport’s history and following an extremely challenging 2020, made this win even more remarkable.”
