Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has condemned the Republic of Nauru’s decision to open an embassy in Jerusalem, describing the move as unacceptable and a flagrant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions.

Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fouad Al Majali stressed that any measures or decisions aimed at changing the status of the city of Jerusalem or its legal status are considered null and void, illegitimate and unlawful.
Al Majali reiterated that the only path toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region is the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
