Army Foils Drug Smuggling Attempt Using Guided Balloons

The Eastern Military Zone foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs using guided balloons early Monday within its area of responsibility, the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said.اضافة اعلان

Border Guard units detected the balloons, intercepted them and brought them down inside Jordanian territory, seizing their drug cargo in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.

The seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities to take the necessary legal measures.



The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army reaffirmed its continued firm response to smuggling and infiltration attempts across the border, as well as its monitoring of various methods and means used to carry out such operations and its implementation of the necessary operational measures to thwart and address them.
