The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said early Wednesday that Jordan had come under a missile attack originating from Iranian territory.
Jordanian air defense systems engaged 13 ballistic missiles that entered the Kingdom’s airspace and successfully intercepted and destroyed 10 of them, while three missiles fell in remote areas far from population centers, the Armed Forces’ official spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the attack was dealt with in accordance with approved operational procedures and that no injuries or fatalities were reported.
Specialized teams immediately began securing the sites where missile debris fell and taking the necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens.
The Armed Forces urged citizens not to approach, touch or move any unidentified objects or debris and to immediately notify the relevant authorities if any are found. It also called on the public to avoid circulating unverified information and to rely on statements issued by official authorities.
The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army confirmed that its units and formations continue to carry out their duties around the clock and that surveillance and air defense systems remain on full alert to respond to any threat, safeguarding the Kingdom’s security, the safety of its citizens and the sovereignty of its airspace.
The Armed Forces said it continues to monitor and assess developments and will announce any information or updates requiring public attention through official channels.
