Prime Minister Jafar Hassan on Sunday chaired a meeting with ministers, government officials and private-sector representatives to discuss maintaining the sustainability of supply and logistics chains and streamlining procedures at the ports of Aqaba and border crossings in cooperation with the private sector, amid the prevailing conditions in the region.

During the meeting, Hassan stressed the need for continued coordination and effective collaboration among all relevant authorities and the private sector, as well as taking all necessary measures to ensure the efficient flow of goods through the Aqaba ports and the Kingdom’s various border crossings.
The meeting reviewed operations at the Aqaba ports, which are operating as an efficient regional logistics hub at full capacity and have attracted growing interest from international countries and companies. Shipping activity has also increased significantly, supported by competitive handling times to ensure the smooth movement and transportation of goods, alongside operations at other border crossings.
Officials also presented available logistics plans and alternatives to address the impact of current regional conditions, ensuring the continuity and efficiency of supply chains and the availability of essential goods and commodities in the local market.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Muhannad Shehadeh; Minister of Transport and Minister of Labor Nidal Al-Qatamin; Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Al-Momani; Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Al-Qudah; Director General of the Jordan Customs Department Maj. Gen. Ahmed Al-Akalik; Chief Executive Officer of the Aqaba Development Corporation Hussein Al-Safadi; Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority Shadi Al-Majali; and representatives of the Amman Chamber of Commerce and the private sector.
