Jordan will hold elections for the boards of directors of its chambers of commerce and for commercial sector representatives on Saturday, December 5, the Independent Election Commission has confirmed. If quorum is not met, voting will move to December 12.

The elections cover 16 chambers of commerce and representatives of 10 commercial sectors.The committees supervising the vote were sworn in on Tuesday before the commission's Board of Commissioners. Their responsibilities include auditing, approving and publishing the lists of registered commercial establishments entitled to vote in each chamber, and reviewing nominations for both the boards and the sector representative seats.
