Jordan recorded a notable improvement in student performance in the 2025 cycle of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), compared with the 2022 cycle, in mathematics, science and reading, Abdullah Ababneh, head of the National Center for Human Resources Development, said Tuesday.

Ababneh made the remarks during a press conference announcing Jordan’s results in PISA 2025. He said Jordan was among the few participating countries to improve student performance across all three assessed areas compared with the 2022 results.
The improvement recorded by Jordan was the largest among participating Arab countries, Ababneh said, noting that the Kingdom posted the biggest gains in mathematics, science and reading compared with Arab countries that took part in the assessment and had comparable data available.
He added that the 2025 results indicate a clear recovery in the performance of Jordanian students, along with improvements in several performance and equity indicators compared with the previous cycle.
