The signing took place at the Ministry of Water and Irrigation in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Water Authority, Sufian Batayneh, the Assistant for Water Affairs, Asma Al-Wahadneh, several other officials, and a representative from the local contractor. The project aims to increase the station's productivity from 650 cubic meters per hour to 750 cubic meters per hour.
The Minister of Water and Irrigation stated that the Ministry and the Water Authority are prioritizing the rapid rehabilitation of water stations to meet the growing demand for water, enhance supply efficiency, address supply imbalances, and fulfill the needs of various regions.
He noted that the project will serve most areas in Tafilah and improve water access for citizens. It involves the rehabilitation and modernization of three pumping stations in Al-Hasa (Al-Hasa 1, Al-Hasa 2, and Al-Hasa 3) in Tafilah Governorate. This includes all mechanical and electrical works, as well as maintenance of pump rooms, operations facilities, and storage tanks.
Al-Hasa 1 and Al-Hasa 2 stations contain four pumps with a capacity of 400 cubic meters per hour each, while Al-Hasa 3 station contains six pumps with a capacity of 300 cubic meters per hour. These stations pump water to the Al-Ais and Al-Harir reservoirs in Tafilah.
The project also involves the implementation and operation of a modern SCADA system for the pumping stations and wells to ensure high-efficiency monitoring of reservoirs and wells. The installation includes FCV (Flow Control Valve) systems, valves, meters, RTU units, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and electrical panels, in addition to connecting the Al-Hasa wells to the SCADA system.
