The Greater Amman Municipality plans to install a steel pedestrian bridge on Jordan Street as part of its efforts to improve infrastructure.
The municipality’s Executive Director of Roads, Suleiman Al-Shammari, said the pedestrian bridge will be installed on the section in front of Al-Sarh Schools, with the aim of enhancing public safety for road users, reducing traffic accidents, and providing pedestrians with a safe crossing.

Hani Al-Marashdeh, director of the municipality’s Construction Department, said the work requires a full closure of the road lanes at the construction site to ensure public safety and facilitate the smooth execution of the project. The closure will require temporary traffic diversions as follows:
Traffic coming from beyond the Northern Bridge toward the Abu Nseir–Baqa’a intersection will be diverted toward Shiqaq Al-Rijal Association, then to Al-Sarh Roundabout and onto Jordan Street.
Traffic traveling from Jordan Street toward Abu Nseir will turn right onto the road adjacent to the Total fuel station, then turn left toward Al-Sarh Schools Street and continue onto Jordan Street.
The municipality said the diversions will be implemented from midnight until 8 a.m. for one day.
The municipality urged citizens and drivers to follow traffic guidance and instructions issued by traffic officers and comply with the warning signs placed at the site to ensure their safety and maintain smooth traffic flow.
