The Public Security Directorate’s media spokesperson said a report was received by the Zarqa Police Directorate at midday Thursday regarding a five-year-old child who was taken to hospital after being found inside a student transport bus that operates under a private contract with families.

The child had reportedly been left inside the bus for a period of time after being forgotten by a woman responsible for transporting students and the vehicle was locked, according to preliminary investigations.
The spokesperson confirmed that the child arrived at the hospital deceased. The body was referred to the forensic medicine department to determine the cause of death.
The bus driver was arrested, and an investigation was launched in preparation for referring the case to the judiciary.
