Jordan’s Anti-Narcotics Department dealt with 71 cases across the Kingdom during the fifth week of its intensified campaign against crystal methamphetamine, including 24 cases involving trafficking and promotion and 47 involving drug use, according to the Public Security Directorate’s media spokesperson.

The campaign resulted in the arrest of 126 people and the seizure of a total of 12 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
The spokesperson said officers handled 24 cases involving the trafficking and promotion of crystal methamphetamine, resulting in the arrest of 42 people suspected of involvement.
They also dealt with 47 drug-use cases, in which 84 people were arrested. Various quantities of crystal methamphetamine were seized from those arrested, totaling 12 kilograms.
The spokesperson stressed that the campaign would continue firmly and without leniency, with the aim of raising awareness about the dangers of crystal methamphetamine and pursuing anyone involved in dealing with the drug, given the risks it poses to users, society and public safety.
The Public Security Directorate called on the public to fulfill their humanitarian and social responsibility by reporting any information related to the drug or individuals involved in its distribution or use through the unified emergency number 911.
The spokesperson emphasized that all reports would be handled with the utmost confidentiality and seriousness.
