The Sudanese army on Monday repelled an attempted aerial attack by drones operated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeting Khartoum.
A Sudanese military source told reporters that ground defenses intercepted attacks carried out by RSF suicide drones that attempted to target sites in the capital in the early hours of Monday.

The military source added that all attacking drones were shot down before reaching their intended targets.
Last year, the Sudanese army announced that it had established full control over Khartoum and its surrounding areas in two main phases, in March and May 2025. Since then, the intensity of fighting in the capital has declined, although the RSF has continued to carry out drone attacks from time to time.
Drone warfare between the Sudanese army and the RSF has intensified in recent months, amid the ongoing conflict that erupted in April 2023.
