The Sudanese army carried out airstrikes on positions held by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) west of North Kordofan state, according to reports Monday.

Cairo News correspondent Mohamed Ibrahim, reporting from Sudan, said the Sudanese army was continuing its advance toward new areas near the border with Ethiopia.
The Sudanese army announced that its air defenses had shot down a hostile drone in the Al-Kokiti area of North Kordofan, while its forces had taken control of the Al-Jamama area.
Sudanese sources said the army had established positions inside the Tina area, near the town of Sudri, adding that RSF fighters had fled Sudri in large numbers after the army took control of Tina village.
Sources close to the Sudanese army also said its forces had captured the Al-Farshaya area in Dilling, South Kordofan, following heavy fighting with RSF forces.
