Sudanese army forces have taken control of Al-Farshaya in the city of Dilling, South Kordofan state, following heavy fighting with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Cairo News correspondent in Sudan, Mohamed Ibrahim, reported that the army had also taken control of Al-Mamsouka, located about 60 kilometers west of El Obeid in North Kordofan state.
The correspondent said the Sudanese army also carried out drone strikes targeting RSF vehicles in and around the town of Sodari in North Kordofan.
The states of Kordofan, Blue Nile and Darfur have witnessed months of continued fighting between the Sudanese army and the RSF as part of the war that began in April 2023. The conflict has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced around 13 million, according to UN and international estimates.
A state of cautious calm has prevailed along other fronts in North Kordofan, as well as in parts of North and West Darfur and the Blue Nile region in southeastern Sudan.
In North Darfur, the Displacement Tracking Matrix reported that hundreds of displaced people had fled amid deteriorating security conditions. It said approximately 1,275 people had been displaced from the Um Baru locality, with those fleeing heading either to Kernoi in North Darfur or across the border into neighboring Chad.
